Most of JGID happens in the gaps between the runs.

The 13 is one weekend a month. The rest of the time it's a Strava club, a group chat, and a few hundred people in different towns who've got a reason to check in on each other.

Everyone's welcome — any pace, any distance, any background. You don't have to be fast, and you don't have to say much. Turning up quietly is a perfectly good way to be part of this.

A group chat is not a lifeline

These groups are good for arranging a run and having a laugh. They are not staffed, not monitored, and nobody in them is trained.

If things are bad, there are people who are — and they're free, and they answer at 2am.
